Ranjita Sapkota ,while on her internship with Plustrust, unraveled the supply chain for the major inputs in the Mid-day Meal Scheme up to the Taluk level taking Padma’s support to deal with language barriers. She presented this work at on Plustrust Day and has based her M A dissertation on this.
Vision Document for Reform in Higher Education
In March-April 2015, Plustrust partnered with the Department of Higher Education in Andhra Pradesh to develop the vision statement and constitute the advisory body for the Knowledge Mission of AP. Shanti Yeachuri worked on the project for three months for constituting and convening the advisory and executive groups. Lalitha Iyer worked on the early drafts of the vision statement and facilitated consultations within and across stakeholders. In September 2014 we were invited to study Government Primary Schools in Kuppam Mandal of Andhra Pradesh to map the potemtial available for upgrading and improving the institutions. Padma managed the field research with a local team of research scholars from the Dravidian University.
Lalitha Iyer led the research team for studying and recommending tools to analyze gender responsiveness in Banking policies in India for UN Women and she presented the report at a conference in December 2015.
We were invited by UNICEF to offer technical support to the Gurukulam Society (set up by the Tribal welfare Department in AP ) to develop a self assessment process in their schools. Plustrust worked with a core group from Gurukulam to develop the approach and visited fifteen schools to pilot the process designed.
The team members from Plustrust were mainly friends of Sukanya –Mr. B Subbarao, Mr Ali Asghar, Ms.Pradnya Keskar, Ms, Padma, Ms Madhurima Malladeb, Ms. Mamta Uppidi and Dr. Lalitha Iyer and the field trips were fun indeed.
