Micro-incubation for Rural Women Changemakers

Help our Rural Women convert their passion into action.

The prevailing gender gaps in the emerging ecosystem for incubation of start-ups in India. Especially in the rural resource-poor communities, create major barriers for women aspiring to become entrepreneurs. Your donation will help us to address this issue and nurture changemakers through our Changemaker, Return to Roots and Rural Women Edupreneure Fellowship programmes. This will help to build an ecosystem to foster micro incubation support by providing relevant learning and technological resources to cover the last mile gaps in Education, Livelihood, Health in their community.

Renuka belongs to the Meena Tribe – Schedule Tribe from Rajasthan. This 19-year-old entrepreneur from Kherki – Udaipur, Rajasthan is reviving the goat rearing profession – a primary source of livelihood among the tribal women of Sadara block in Rajasthan. Through the fellowship programme and anchor support, she has launched MAYRA, an organic soap brand. The goat milk used in soap making is supplied by the women in her community. Through this initiative, she has helped 10 women earn a monthly income of INR 1500/-. In the coming years, she plans to expand her enterprise and generate more employment in the village. Along with this venture, Renuka is also pursuing her studies.

To help women like her, we spend INR 1.30 lakh on average for a 6-month fellowship. This involves the following:

– Orientation workshop cost: INR 5000 per head

– Fellowship for six months INR 60000 (INR 10000 per month)

– Mentoring cost INR 20000

– Skill development INR 20000

– Material cost INR 25000 (spread over 6 months)

The fellowships have contributed to the well-being of 15000+ people spread across various states.
